Variable refrigerant flow (VRF, also called VRV) systems heat and cool many zones from a compact set of outdoor units. They are efficient and quiet, and they fit well in New York offices, retail spaces, mixed-use and multi-family buildings where ductwork space is tight. What's the difference between VRF and VRV? They're the same technology. VRV is Daikin's trademarked name.
Can VRF heat and cool at the same time? Heat-recovery systems can heat some zones while cooling others.
Is VRF only for large buildings? No. Smaller VRF systems work well for offices, stores and larger homes.
